  China has successfully launched the Tianwen-2 mission, a historic milestone in the country's space exploration endeavors. In the early hours of Thursday, May 29, 2025, a Long March-3B rocket lifted off from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province at 1:31 a.

China has launched the Tianwen-2 mission, marking the beginning of a decade-long exploration to study the near-Earth asteroid Kamoʻoalewa and the comet 311P/PANSTARRS. The mission, which took off from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan, involves a complex journey including a flyby of Kamoʻoalewa to collect samples, which will be returned to Earth in 2025, followed by a rendezvous with 311P/PANSTARRS in 2035. This ambitious endeavor aims to enhance our understanding of the solar system's origins and evolution, and showcases China's growing capabilities in deep space exploration.
