AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Apr 8, 2013) - Crossroads Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ CRDS ]), a global provider of data archive solutions, today announced the release of its latest StrongBox® LTFS NAS data storage solution which includes new platforms that offer unparalleled performance while handling the huge amounts of data used in the media and entertainment (M&E) industry. Crossroads will highlight its award-winning StrongBox archive solution during NAB Show in booth SL7627 from April 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The new T10, T20 and T30 StrongBox platforms bring enhanced efficiency and optimized performance. These new platforms empower high-volume accessibility and storage for ever-growing data volumes in enterprise archive environments.

  • Expanded Support for New LTO-6 Version Tape Drives
StrongBox now supports LTO-6, enhancing storage with 2.5TB native capacity per tape and data read and write speeds up to 160 MB/s.

  • Enterprise Jaguar (IBM TS1140) Drive Support
StrongBox expands the supported tape devices with the IBM TS1140 (Jaguar) enterprise drives. The Jaguar drives uniquely offer expansive performance with a transfer speed of 250 MB/s and capacity of 4 terabytes per tape while providing greater data reliability and shelf life.

  • Reporting and Analytics Software Module
StrongBox Reporting and Analytics gives organizations a powerful view of the health and usage of their archive system -- allowing for a 360-degree view of the content environment and providing insight into scalability requirements for the future.

  • Enhanced Replication Workflows
This latest offering allows organizations to seamlessly ingest copies of data to a second archive site using physical seed tapes. The simplified StrongBox replication workflow provides complete protection for business-critical content.

  • Partial File Restore
Partial file restore is now supported via the StrongBox early adopter program. This allows M&E professionals to quickly gain access to specific video clips without being required to pull and view the surrounding non-relevant content.

  • Support for Alternate Data Streams in Microsoft Environments
StrongBox now also offers support for archiving Alternate Data Streams in Microsoft environments, supporting file metadata transfer storage along with archived files for rapid retrieval of assets from the archive. This functionality empowers users to meet specific requirements for effectively archiving merged files, such as imaging with descriptive content added.

"StrongBox continues to lead the pack in enterprise-level LTFS-based archiving," said Paul Leury, chief technologist at Crossroads Systems. "These latest enhancements and added support illustrate Crossroads' commitment to continual innovation and answering the needs of its customers. In archives, performance is a significant factor -- and we're pleased that StrongBox features impressive speeds that enterprises routinely applaud."
