Quantum's New DXi6800 Appliance Wins Innovation Award and DXi6701/02 Takes Product of the Year

Global Accolades for DXi Deduplication Continue to Grow

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - Mar 19, 2013) - Quantum Corp. (NYSE: [ QTM ]), a proven global expert in data protection and big data management, today announced that Quantum's DXi® deduplication and backup products recently received annual awards from two technology industry leaders. The new [ DXi6800 ] appliance won the Initiative Mittelstand Innovation IT Award 2013 at the CeBIT trade show, and the [ DXi6701/02 ] appliance won the Network Computing 2013 Product of the Year Award in the Storage Product category.

Introduced in January, the DXi6800 combines industry-leading performance, scalability and efficiency with "pay-as-you-grow" extensibility for better overall value than any competitive offering. It delivers up to 16 TB/hour performance -- four times that of the market leader. The DXi6800 combines Quantum's patented variable-length data deduplication technology with the StorNext® high-performance file system to deliver this best-in-class performance and efficiency. The DXi6800 also offers 13-156 TB of usable capacity in a single system -- three times more scalability than the market leader while requiring just half the power and data center floor space.

The DXi6701/02 has been widely adopted around the world and has proven popular with customers that don't want to make trade-offs in terms of features, performance and price when choosing a deduplication solution.

"We appreciate the recognition our DXi products continue to receive from the storage community," noted Robert Clark, senior vice president, Data Protection Group, Quantum. "The DXi-Series has been embraced as the backup and deduplication cornerstone for an expansive range of environments, and the DXi6800 and DXi6701/02 exemplify Quantum's leadership in providing best-in-class technology, solutions and value for meeting customers' data protection needs."
