AUGUSTA, Maine--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--The My Maine Connection online service ([ www.Maine.gov/mymaineconnection ]) was recently honored with a prestigious Best Fit Integrator Award given to Maine Information Network, the State of Maineas private sector eGovernment portal provider. The award, given by the Center for Digital Government in the Health and Human Services category, highlights the service as a facilitator for process or operational changes within a state agency.

The My Maine Connection online service has moved several processes related to state assistance programs into an electronic format, resulting in reduced paperwork and significant efficiencies for the state. The service has been well received by the public, providing an online option for benefits pre-screening and a secure and efficient way to remain compliant with program rules.

Moving processes online allows Department employees to be more productive by reducing their time entering basic data and following up on incomplete paperwork.

The award was given to Maine Information Network, a subsidiary of NIC, by the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government.
