Companies Partner to Bring New Advancements in Structured Reporting Solution to Market

SAN RAMON, CA--(Marketwire - May 30, 2012) - DPR, a technology company that delivers intelligent imaging informatics solutions for the radiology industry, today announced it has entered into an agreement with M*Modal™, (MModal Inc.) DPR has embedded M*Modal Fluency Direct™ technology, which fully leverages the contextual understanding of a physician's narrative, into CaseReader™, a highly advanced intelligent post-processing, structured reporting software solution. Integrating the products dramatically improves the efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of managing, analyzing and organizing CT, PET-CT and MRI images.

CaseReader is fully integrated with M*Modal's technology for voice-driven navigation and dictation, which allows radiologists to complete more exams on a given day and produce reports more quickly. CaseReader also integrates with the RIS, PACS and the 2D viewing application resulting in a linkage whereby measurements are systematically captured within CaseReader and into the final report. This next generation reporting vehicle helps the radiologist lower costs, reduce the potential for errors and, while working in collaboration with the referring physician, save patients' lives.

Integrated Solution Improves Productivity
The integrated solution works with all radiology information systems (RIS), hospital information systems (HIS) and picture archive communications systems (PACs). This not only further enhances radiologists' productivity but also assists in the transition to new government reporting requirements under the HITECH Act intended to increase the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) where Stage 1 incentives are available for hospitals and physicians who are "meaningful users" of certified EHR systems that improve patient care while enhancing clinical quality.

Now radiologists can efficiently create accurate diagnostic reports in less time, even as the number of data images captured continues to grow. The workflow efficiencies and voice-driven navigation and dictation features of the solution enable users to move through data more effectively. Customized templates and integration between the 2D image viewer and CaseReader reduce the incidence of diagnostic report errors by ensuring that all necessary commentary is completed and all measurements are accurately captured in the report.

Finally, the solution accelerates report turnaround time. CaseReader is accessed when a radiologist selects a study from the queue. Icons navigate the radiologist through the study. The new integrated solution enables users to systematically capture measurements and embed key images directly into the final report while drastically reducing the number of clicks required to complete a study. As information is captured, a final report is generated in the background, ready to be reviewed, signed and distributed immediately upon completion of the study.
