OKLAHOMA CITY, July 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless and the Oklahoma chapter of Blue Star Mothers are joining efforts to provide U.S. troops serving overseas with much-needed items used every day. Donation boxes are located at all Verizon Wireless communication stores throughout Oklahoma. Supplies collected will be distributed to troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. Needed items include:

Verizon and Blue Star Mothers hope to collect enough donations to send 100 care packages to military men and women serving abroad. The collection drive runs through July 31, 2011. Verizon Wireless Communication Stores are located in Altus, Chickasha, Duncan, Lawton, Norman, Oklahoma City, Edmond, Midwest City, Owasso, Poteau, Tulsa, Stillwater and Tahlequah.
