BALA CYNWYD, Pa.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Law office of Brodsky & Smith, LLC announces that it is investigating potential claims against the Board of Directors of Cogent, Inc. (aCogenta or the aCompanya) (Nasdaq: COGT) relating to the proposed acquisition by 3M Co.

Under the terms of the offer, Cogent shareholders would receive cash of $10.50 for each share of Cogent stock they own. The investigation concerns possible breaches of fiduciary duty and other violations of state law. The transaction appears to be unfair, in part, given that Cogent stock was trading at $10.61 a share as recently as June 26, 2010 and was trading at $11.29 a share on January 21, 2010.
