Amex Nominates J.H.Coleman on Board

MONTRÉAL, CANADA--(Marketwire - May 17, 2010) - Amex Exploration Inc. ("Amex") (TSX VENTURE:AMX) is very pleased to announce that Mr. James H. Coleman has joined Amex Exploration inc. team as director of the company.

Mr. Coleman, Q.C., is a Partner with Macleod Dixon LLP, one of Canada's leading international law firms. Over the years, Mr. Coleman has been involved in banking, corporate, securities, mining and oil and gas transactions in Canada, the United States, Europe, Central and South America, Africa and Asia. He has also been involved in a number of large divestments and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and major financings within the energy sector. As a director of a number of public companies, including mining and oil and gas companies, Mr. Coleman has chaired various independent committees of public companies relating to corporate, governance and securities matters. In addition to his work in the legal and business sectors, Mr. Coleman is also a member of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada. As incoming new director, Mr. Coleman has been allocated 250,000 stock option of at a exercise price of 0.30$ valid a period of 5 years.

Mr Coleman is replacing Mr. Jacques Bourbonnais that has resigned from his position as director of the company in order to be fully involved in a new professional venture that needs his presence overseas. During his stay as director of Amex, Mr. Bourbonnais as been greatly appreciated by its colleagues for his wide experience in the mining technical sector. The board has unanimously express its gratitude for Jacques' dedication for the growth of the company.

As recently announced (see PR of February 8th, 2010), Amex has acquired 100% of X-Ores subsidiary ( X-Ore International) that in returns holds 100% of its Mexican subsidiary, 'Minerales X-Ore S.A. de CV', that holds three properties covering more than 40,000 hectares in the prolific Sierra Madre Gold-Silver Belt of Mexico. Amex will soon be starting, along with his new partner, Bowmore Exploration inc. (TSX-V:BOW) (see PR of April 8th 2010) an agressive exploration program that will be announced in the next coming weeks.
