BEIJING--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--The Bank of East Asia (China) Limited (BEA China), operating one of the most extensive branch banking networks in China, has selected BMC Software's (NASDAQ: BMC) market-leading Business Service Management (BSM) platform to deliver a comprehensive IT management platform and to build up a "boutique data center" that meets its rapidly growing banking business.

"Convinced that BMC solutions are comprehensive and built on rich expertise, we have formed a strategic relationship with BMC to implement automated and standardized IT management, supporting our current business needs and laying a solid foundation for future business expansion."

Qualified as a domestic settlement bank and domestic agent bank in China, BEA China has been rapidly expanding its business and spreading its network across the whole nation. This expansion and ever-changing market requirements have resulted in a growing amount of software and hardware, as well as increasingly complex IT systems. Under these circumstances, data centralization, process management and risk control had become challenging tasks.

BMC Software is providing BEA China with a BSM solution that reduces the risks incurred by manual interference and ensures business stability by establishing a secure and reliable automated IT management process. A "process bank" has been built up to improve the visibility, standardization and automation of IT management. The BSM platform includes a wide range of solutions that will not only meet BEA's needs to improve system monitoring, event management and process automation, but also realize the unified data provisioning, monitoring and management based on core business priorities, delivering accurate, pervasive, and business-aware visibility into the dependencies between business processes, users, and IT infrastructure.

The BSM platform used by BEA China includes a wide range of solutions, including BMC Atrium CMDB, BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management, BMC Event and Impact Management and BMC Remedy, delivering comprehensive coverage from monitoring to control. IT can be managed proactively based on business needs and not just individual IT requirements.

"IT departments in the banking industry must foresee and avoid risks to ensure business continuity in a fast changing environment," said BEA China Chief Information Officer Lin Li. "Convinced that BMC solutions are comprehensive and built on rich expertise, we have formed a strategic relationship with BMC to implement automated and standardized IT management, supporting our current business needs and laying a solid foundation for future business expansion."

"IT operations should be closely aligned to business needs, and all IT management islands should be tightly linked in order to maximize the positive business impact of IT," said Steve Su, BMC country manager for North Asia. "We are glad to be working closely with BEA, a forerunner in the Chinese banking industry. BMC's Business Service Management platform will deliver holistic benefits to the bank's IT management system. As a result, BEA customers will enjoy ever more outstanding and valuable user experiences well into the future."
