CINCINNATI--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--According to a report today in Bloomberg, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) is now the subject of an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Regulators are trying to determine whether the tech firm misled investors about the health of CEO Steve Jobs, who recently announced he would take a leave of absence.

Cancer survivor Jobs first attempted to assuage the ever-present rumors about his well-being by confessing to a hormone imbalance, which he said was easily treatable. However, Bloomberg's source claims Jobs is now considering a liver transplant due to complications stemming from his cancer treatment.
