  • The Franklin Institute was founded in 1824 in Philadelphia to honor the legacy of Benjamin Franklin. Two centuries later it remains a destination for science and technology education, recognition and inspiration for future generations.

The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia is celebrating its 200th anniversary with a series of new exhibits and experiences. The museum, which opened in 1824, is introducing "Wondrous Space," an exhibit that explores the future of space travel, including a full-scale model of NASA's Artemis rocket. Additionally, a new permanent exhibit, "The Franklin Institute: 200 Years of Impact," showcases the museum's history and its contributions to science education. Visitors can also enjoy a revamped Giant Heart exhibit, where they can walk through a 26-foot-tall model of the human heart. These new attractions aim to engage visitors with interactive and educational content, reflecting the institute's commitment to fostering curiosity and innovation in science.
