MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - June 24, 2009) - Sierra Monitor Corporation (OTCBB: [ SRMC ]), a Cleantech focused company that designs, manufactures and sells electronic safety and environmental instrumentation, announced that its subsidiary FieldServer Technologies (FST), a major gateway manufacturer in the building automation and process control industries, has introduced a unique Gateway Server that deploys the company's proprietary protocol translation in remote Windows based servers. The servers translate machine data into the widely used protocol OPC.

The OPC protocol is an industry standard used primarily to allow efficient development and maintenance of graphical user interfaces for control room applications. The remote server allows data to be collected at various points on a network using any other protocol driver in the extensive FST library. By using a standard protocol multiple supervisory and control systems can access the data simultaneously. FST's OPC Server Gateway has been tested as OPC Foundation compliant with Data Access Server Version 2.0 and can be used to monitor as many as 10,000 points of data.
