  • Apple says it hopes to help tackle one of the biggest issues with medical research - limited numbers of participants and data. The company says that more than 350,000 people in the US have taken part in previous studies for women's health, hearing, and heart and movement. Here are the details and how you can get involved.

Apple has launched its most extensive health study to date, focusing on how women's menstrual cycles, pregnancy, and overall health are influenced by various factors. Named the Apple Women’s Health Study, it aims to gather data through the Apple Research app on iPhone, which participants can download to contribute to the study. This study collaborates with Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). Participants will provide information on their menstrual cycles, symptoms, lifestyle, and environmental factors. The study seeks to understand better the connections between menstrual cycles, fertility, and health conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and infertility, potentially leading to advancements in women's health research. Anyone with an iPhone can join by downloading the app, consenting to participate, and sharing their health data.
