BIEL, Switzerland--([ ])--IXYS Corporation (NASDAQ: IXYS), a leader in power semiconductors and integrated circuit technologies for energy efficient products announced today the introduction of a new range of IGBT modules for high power applications. The new IXYS SIMBUS F module is an industry standard outline optimized for IGBT phase leg configurations providing the highest current density available today. Equipped with IXYSa own XPT IGBT and SONIC freewheeling diode technologies, the new development addresses the very apex of high power applications.

"With continued investments in our technology, we are committed to provide our customers with energy efficient solutions for power and motor control applications"

Utilizing the IXYS standard adesigned ina market leading reliability, the SIMBUS F module line features a 17 millimetre height allowing low stray inductance insertion into a large range of power circuits reducing power loss and improving energy efficiency over competitive solutions. The SIMBUS F is available in 225, 300 and 450 ampere 1.2kV rating. The MIXA450PF1200TSF is an example of a dual 450A 1.2kV IGBT module in phase leg topology including anti-parallel freewheeling diodes.

aWith continued investments in our technology, we are committed to provide our customers with energy efficient solutions for power and motor control applications,a commented Mr. Bradley Green, President of European Sales and Business Development at IXYS. aWith the SIMBUS F outline, we address higher power applications where due to the operational power level, percentage points of improvement in efficiency have real tangible benefits to the user in saving energy. It is, therefore, good for the environment. We encourage our customers to also look at our optically isolated drivers and our high current IGBT drivers to use with these modules.a

aHigher voltage and higher power versions are in development as standard products, and we also offer customized application specific solutions to meet our customersa high power needs. Since we produce this family of products in our facilities, we have the flexibility and the tight quality control, from the Si chip level to the final module assembly,a added Mr. Green.

Targeted applications for this technology include alternative energy, solar inverters, efficient motor drives, DC-DC converters, electric and hybrid car drives, and high power SMPSas and UPSas.
