SMC Recordings Inc. Announces New Partnership With Blak Hollywood Entertainment to Release First of Several Projects Worldwide
SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - December 24, 2009) - SMC Recordings (
SMC Recordings, an independent record label out of the San Francisco Bay Area, and Blak Hollywood Entertainment, which just opened offices in Atlanta, GA, will kick things off with the release of internet rap sensation J-Real and his debut album "My Audition," scheduled for release in early 2010.
The decision to partner with Blak Hollywood was not a difficult one. "Blak Hollywood is a new and exciting entertainment company with an impressive roster of young talent," says co-founder and CEO Ralph Tashjian. "Our proven success in the Atlanta and southern region with Pastor Troy and Killer Mike gives us the credentials to work with a company like Blak Hollywood and the confidence to succeed." Miguel Savannah, Head of Operations, agrees with Ralph, stating, "I've been in the music industry for a number of years and met Ralph Tashjian through an urban radio promoter and we stayed in contact over time. After Marcus Hammond and Orlando Ferrer started the label, they approached me about getting involved and I felt that SMC was a great catalyst for a label with incredible artists."
"SMC's infrastructure is perfect for an indie label like Blak Hollywood that has their own financial backing," says Blak Hollywood Senior Partner Marcus Hammond. "... and they are true to form when it comes to achieving maximum exposure for our artists without getting caught up in the major label red tape."
Blak Hollywood Entertainment is looking forward to many aspects of their new partnership with SMC Recordings, including, "Longevity and growth and to become a dominant force in the indie label market. With artists like J-Real, Issa X-TAC, and Mozart, we feel these are artists that will benefit greatly though our joint venture with SMC," says Orlando Ferrer, Blak Hollywood Senior Partner.
